As both a Mom and Photographer I know how stressful family photo sessions can be.  There is always a heightened level of anxiety around having to be dressed, be on time, keep the kids looking pulled together and behaving while asking that everyone cooperate, smile and give us that family photo we envision this all being about.  The reality of it  is that it is stressful…for everyone.  My goal  in creating these experiences for your families is to alleviate some of the stress of the moment and give everyone a chance to have their true colors shine through.

 

Sadly, this stress can sometimes bring out our less than perfect parenting moments. My team & I fully understand that we cannot be our best every day. However, I would be doing a disservice to you and your families if I did not address this behaviour here. Unfortunately, we’ve experienced a few (and yes, thankfully only a few) moments that are simply unacceptable. And this is not simply kiddos being reprimanded but actually degraded and bullied. It is very hard for my team & I to witness children being treated this way. We do not want a photo session to be the reason for this type of behavior and for that reason, we will not allow this to happen at our events. 

 

As Cool Yule approaches, I am simply  asking everyone  to be aware of the stress that the season brings and to be kind to yourself & your kiddos. We want you to enjoy the magic of Cool Yule and get the perfect holiday experience you are envisioning for your day. I’ve asked my team to please notify me if they witness any of this type of behavior at Cool Yule this year. As part of our commitment to providing a safe & fun experience for everyone, we will kindly ask those who bring this toxic energy to our events to no longer attend future events. Let’s bring all the holiday cheer and leave the stress at the door
