I wanted to honor the class of 2021 and all the seniors I had the joy of photographing this year with a weekly feature … and what better senior to kick that off with then my very own Senior. My Savanah girl.
I can’t believe we are even here. I still think of you as my sweet, chubby, smiling baby girl who made me a Mommy. I know that this year is supposed to be so very different for you and all of your classmates. It is supposed to be filled with football games and lunches with friends and proms and all of the rights of passage senior year brings. It is supposed be so much more than classes behind a screen. Even with all of the differences, though, I have watched you and your friends make some amazing senior year memories…memories that you may have never sought out if it wasn’t for Covid changing the game and forcing you to get creative. You have proven your resilience and your willingness to seek adventure and those are the memories that you will forever hold onto.
My wish for you and all of the class of 2021 is that you continue to remember the innocence of your childhood as you embrace all that lays before you. That no matter what life throws you, you will continue to seek out adventures and make the best of the hand you are dealt. Life is a wild ride and it’s the journey that makes up who you are, not the destination. If you can embrace this ride you are on, you can do anything.
