Senior Experience Style Guide

One of the hardest parts of preparing for your senior session experience is deciding what to wear! It’s probably the question we get asked most often!

The most important thing I can tell you is this session is all about YOU and should reflect your own personal style. I want you to pick outfits that you’re comfortable and happy in. The more you feel like yourself, the more relaxed you’ll be in front of the camera!

Have a favorite pair of shoes…Plan your outfit around them! Are accessories your thing… Bring a few along with you and change them up throughout the session! Are you a big sports fan…Bring your favorite jersey! This is your chance to let your sense of style and personality shine through!

Here’s a few tips to keep in mind while picking your look:

INCLUDE SOME VARIETY

You can bring 2-3 outfits. Be sure to bring both casual and dressed-up outfits to offer variety during the shoot. Maybe a flowy dress and heels for girls, or a nice shirt and tie for the guys for a more formal look. On the casual side you can’t ever go wrong with a classic jeans and t-shirt or cute top! Your Cap & Gown or shirt with your high school or college logo also is a great addition to add to your session🎓

Adding accessories or layers that can be interchanged with outfits is also a great way to add some variety. Think scarves, jackets or flannels, hats, etc.

SHOWCASE YOUR INTERESTS

Your senior session should showcase everything that makes you…well YOU! Whether it’s a sports uniform, dance costume or musical instrument, your senior session is the perfect time to show a little love for things you are passionate about!

GIVE IT A TEST RUN

Whatever you choose to wear make sure it’s something you FEEL good in. If your outfit or shoes are stiff and uncomfortable it will show on your face. We move around a lot and work through a variety of posing, so it’s important to try your outfit on and make sure you it’s something you feel comfortable sitting, standing, even dancing around in!

This same concept goes for hair and makeup. You session is not the day to try out a brand new hairstyle or dramatic makeup look. Test out a few looks ahead of time before deciding what to do on picture day.

This is your session. Your time to shine, feel amazing and capture a huge part of your life. Wear what you love and what you feel comfortable in. If you feel confident, not only will you rock your photo session, but you’ll love your images that much more!
